Why a Rick Steves tour?

My first Rick Steves tour was an adult-oriented, culturally diverse, wine tasting, museum hopping two weeks - and I loved it!  This time, however, I would be traveling with my daughter and niece who are teenagers.  Like most teenagers, they like to laugh and have fun, so I was looking for a tour to help them create lifelong memories that would connect them long after I'm gone!  The Rick Steves Family Tour London-Florence was the perfect solution.

Being a kid is not a requirement in order to have fun on the Rick Steves Family Tour.  In Paris, we played an outdoor game called pentaque.  In Burgundy, we swam in a huge pool, played volleyball, and even went ziplining.  In Switzerland, we were able to try to play the alphorn and even honed our yodeling skills.  We hiked the Alps, swam in the Ligurian Sea in Cinque Terre, made pizzas, and at the Uffizi Museum in Florence, the kids went on their own tour with a separate guide.  The teenagers thought having their own guide with a tour geared toward their age was cool because they got to see more colorful pieces, ones that would catch a kid's eye.  The girls never even realized they were learning, because they were having so much fun! Read more about it here to decide if a Rick Steves vacation is for you!  (SPOILER ALERT: It will be!)

The Family Tour, in my opinion, is the way to go for "kids" of all ages!

Rick Steves tours are unique, and they definitely take the road less traveled! Other tours stick you in giant groups and shuttle you from place to place, but Rick's tours are a refreshing departure from the typical group tours.
