CINQUE TERRE
Day 9
Cinque Terre is comprised of five villages along Italy's Eastern coast. Our group stayed in Monterosso al Mare, one of Rick's favorite places, and now one of mine, too! There is always something to do: go for a hike, take a train or boat between villages, or just spend the day in total relaxation at the beach.
This morning, we took the bus across the Alps to a completely different climate and terrain: beautiful Cinque Terre in the Italian Riviera.
The Punta Mesco Hotel was a seaside sanctuary.
After depositing our bags at the hotel, we oriented ourselves to the city by taking a walk. We also got gelato - because why not?
We met up with the rest of the group for our welcome dinner:
Italian style! Proscuitto, pesto, calamari, and more were all fantastic.
