"Visiting Florence was like attending a surprise party every day."

FLORENCE

Day 12

We got up early to explore the last tour city on our own and ended up at an open air market.
Madeline also had fun looking for Blub pictures.
Lunch was delicious pasta and pesto we ordered at little trattoria, and dessert was gelato. Doesn't everyone have dessert with each meal?
Let's get gelato!
After a morning of exploring, we met up with the rest of the group at the museum.  The Uffizi Museum houses some of the most recognized masterpieces in the world. It is filled with the world's largest holding of Renaissance paintings collected by the Medici family themselves. I brought home and framed a reproduction of Botticelli's The Birth of Venus. Luckily, it was easy to buy and bring home, and I will forever think of Florence when I gaze upon it!
For dinner, we got a hands-on cooking lesson from an Italian chef.  Making our own food was so much fun and a perfect family activity - everyone was together!  It takes a lot to make pasta, but I'm sure glad I had help!
Multi-talented: chef and singer!
